Copley Scientific Appoints Local Expert as Chief Operating Officer
Nottingham, UK: Following the recent expansion of its UK Headquarters, Copley Scientific is pleased to announce a new addition to its senior management team, in response to a record year for sales and the continued success of the business.
Richard Postlethwaite, formerly Senior Operations Manager of Walgreens Boots Alliance -- an instantly recognisable brand and household name, also based in Nottingham -- will bring a wealth of local and global pharmaceutical industry experience to the already fast-growing company. With an engineering degree in metallurgy and materials science and an MBA, Richard has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and will work alongside the existing senior management team to oversee and optimise all aspects of the business. As an experienced lean manufacturing consultant, Richard is also well placed to help guide and support the company’s continued growth towards operational excellence and an efficient and sustainable future.
Mark Copley, Chief Executive Officer at Copley Scientific, comments: “Richard’s remit will range from production process optimisation to human resources and will include input into global customer support strategies and new product development, both vital components of the company’s growth. As an ISO 9001-registered company, Copley Scientific works hard to maintain high standards across both its product and service offerings, and Richard’s knowledge of pharmaceutical operations will help Copley Scientific transition smoothly from a small-to-medium sized business whilst retaining the personalised customer service for which it is renowned.”
With over 25 years’ operations experience in both the pharmaceutical and engineering sectors, Richard is a welcome addition to an expanding team and, as the staff prepare to move into the newly built extension to the Nottingham HQ, 2018 looks to be one of the most exciting years in the company’s 70+ year history.
